The idea of this exhibition was born when my beloved father was the face of death. He was a genuine atheist; church and God was just for less talented and broken people. But one of his last words were;

”I think maybe there's something anyway…”

For me, this was a trip that would take two years. I ran the second-hand bookshop, shopping Bibles in various formats, attended the Alpha course, talked with clergy from different churches.

When after a while saw my studio wall grow with images and texts, I saw a thread - the tio God bids.

”Pardon”

catrine näsmark The wall was packed full of people. I did not see the trees for the forest…

Just as universal as now. Something that really is based on common sense. Therefore, I wanted to use the stories from the Bible I found most interesting. And then I put together stories with texts.

The paintings are 90 x 90 cm and is made of mixed media. Each painting is based on a story from the Bible to fit his commandments.

For each painting is thought-provoking essays by Pastor Olle Carlsson, see here:

"Urkraft"

”Urkraft”.
My thoughts go out to 9/11. One or more speech signal strength from the mighty city. It was vulnerable. Someone did Samson powerless because they stole his strength. One should not steal. Perhaps more aimed at energies than to steal a piece of jewelry.
